Tallah frontman Justin Bonitz had a little too much fun at the band's kick off show last night (Thursday, July 18th) in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The band was playing at Lizard Lounge, when Bonitz got into an altercation with venue security leading to his arrest.
Five songs into their set, Bonitz started hanging from a pipe on the ceiling. The head of security, who was dressed in different attire than the rest of security, tried to force Bonitz down and Bonitz resisted, kicking out and resulting in a brawl.
According to label officials, throughout the entire ordeal, Bonitz continued singing until he was arrested halfway through the set.
The remaining band members – drummer Max Portnoy, guitarists Derrick Schneider and Eric Novroski, and bassist Andrew Cooper – were told by local officials that Bonitz would have to appear in front of a judge the next morning. When they followed up the next morning, they were told he was released at 2:30 am with no cell phone, shirt or money. How the hell does that happen?
The band have been searching for Bonitz all day, checking local shelters, coffee shops, etc to find their singer. Should they find him before Sunday, the tour will resume.
