PELICAN Guitarist's House Robbed Just As Band Hits The Studio For First New Album Since 2013

Southern Lord and Steve Albini seem to have a thing going right now.

Southern Lord and Steve Albini seem to have a thing going right now.

Pelican released Forever Becoming in 2013, and while they've released four live albums and an EP between 2014 and 2016, they haven't released a proper LP. At least until presumably 2019 when that changes.

Pelican has hit Electrical Audio with producer Steve Albini (Neurosis, Weedeater) on October 2 to record their new album and that's about all we know… but we're still stoked, because Pelican rules.

The day after making this announcement, guitarist Trevor de Brauw found some shitty news when he got back home. He was robbed. The good news is he has insurance, but he needs to pay off a $1,000 deductible and is selling some CDs to help cover the cost.

Also, Southern Lord and Steve Albini seem to have a thing going right now, as Albini also producer the coming Sunn O))) album due out in 2019.
