It seems the child pornography task forces are keeping really busy this month. First, with the news of Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle's arrest and now comes news that the home of KISS bassist Gene Simmons was raided by an LAPD task force last night. This is a unique situation in that Simmons and his family are not the suspects. Rather, the issue occurred when Simmons was on tour. The KISS demon was said to be cooperative and they are keeping hush.
According to CNN:
The rocker’s publicist said the police visit was connected with a crime that may have occurred on the property last year while Simmons was away touring with his band.
Authorities requested Simmons and his family not to discuss the case to avoid undermining the investigation, publicist Cheyanne Baker said in a statement.
The police have told the Simmons to keep quiet on the matter until it is sorted. TMZ is reporting that somebody downloaded child porn onto one of Simmons' computer while he was away and that cops were seizing computers and other digital material to research. The only public comment has been made by Simmons' wife:
Thanks for your support. We couldn't be more horrified that someone used our residence for such heinous crimes. Law enforcement is on it.
