KITTIE & WE ARE PIGS Vocalists Pick Bands To Play Their Dream Festival

Featuring Arch Enemy, Svalbard, Entheos, Nova Twins, and more!

Lander Jones

Kittie's Morgan Lander and We Are Pigs' Esjay Jones recently teamed up for a brand new, non-alcoholic beer named KittiePIG. But what kinda festival would it be served at? We asked Lander and Jones to put together their 10 top picks for a fantasy KittiePIG festival, which you can check out below!

Morgan Lander

Kittie

We are allowed to pick our own bands to play at this festival, right? I think Kittie would be an obvious choice to play our dream festival, representing women in metal for the better part of 30 years as a band. Plus, our new song "Eyes Wide Open" just might be the comeback of the year so far if I do say so myself.

Arch Enemy

I've been a fan of Arch Enemy for a number of years now, and have always loved their ferocious anthems. Angela Gossow ruled the microphone for many years and passing the torch to Alissa White-Gluz has only increased the intensity and solidified their place as one of the greats in metal. Alissa is an iconic front woman and it's been amazing to watch her shine, commanding the stage like a queen! I definitely want Arch Enemy playing at my dream festival!

Nita Strauss

Nita is a guitar goddess and someone whose work ethic I genuinely admire. She's honed her craft in a way that makes shredding look so damn easy, and she's an incredible live performer. Whether it be flying solo with her latest album or holding it down with Alice Cooper, we need Hurricane Nita to represent the female shredders at our dream fest!

Spiritbox

More Canadians in the house here, don't you know we all know each other up here? Spiritbox seems to be everywhere these days, and rightfully so. Crushing songs and incredible production all lead by the voice of both a demon and an angel simultaneously somehow. Courtney does it all and is damn good at it, especially live, so Spiritbox would be an obvious choice.

Entheos

Entheos are new to my playlist rotation but their latest album "Time Will Take Us All" is masterful tech-death, and while I haven't seen them live I can imagine it would be one hell of a show. Definitely high on my festival wish list! Chaney's lows make me cry happy tears of blood, and she shatters glass with those highs. Her voice is just incredible.

Esjay Jones

We Are PIGS

Hello? Duh. Because we are 100% serving KittiePIG and of course we get to play our own festival. Sorry, them's the rules. :)

Cinnamon Babe

They're new to the scene, so if you don't know them, time to check them out. I have had the pleasure of co-writing, engineering and co-producing all of Cinnamon Babe's singles thus far. She is a ferocious performer with a strong message and it's so inspiring watching her grow as an artist!

Banshee

I discovered Banshee through the collaboration we did with Cinnamon Babe. She is known for her signature style of "fairy metal", a blend of trap, hyper pop, black metal and witch house with lyrics that aggressively confront misogyny, abuse and predatory behavior on her experiences in the metal scene. They're invited, 100%.

Nova Twins

I love seeing women shred on their instruments and these two certainly do! Seeing them at our festival will be the first time seeing them live, which will surely be a huge treat. LOVE!

Svalbard

I've only just discovered this band through the She's With The Band podcast on Instagram and I love them! Thank you, Tori! Serena Cherry is a total badass and I can't wait to watch them while sipping on an ice cold KittiePIG. We'd share one after the gig, too.
