10 Great Metal Collaborations That Worked

Probot33640-2.9 big3

This was another seemingly (and sadly) one-off project. It was one fanboy's tribute to the heavy music he grew up on. That fanboy, of course, is Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters/ex-Nirvana. In true super awesome Dave-Grohl-fashion, Dave called upon those vocalists he adored to actually be a part of it rather than finding someone to do an impression of the greats in his homage. Guests included Lemmy, Cronos from Venom, King Diamond, Snake from Voivod, and many more. Apparently, some others asked to participate were Tom from Slayer who was simply too busy and Chuck from Death who passed before the recording. Next year will mark the ten year anniversary of Probot and it would be cool of Dave to celebrate by putting a Probot II together or something. It seems like something he’d be down for anyway. Here’s hoping.
