Helena Zmatlíková was a Czech illustrator, whose work is most well known in children's books. Her paintings, which appeared in books published all over the world in more than 20 languages, have been popular for decades.
Paying homage to what would have been her 90th birthday, a member of Czech metal band Umbrtka, who also writes for Czech Maxim, added some black metal logos to some of her most famous work to transform her art into something way more grim than she had intended. Check them out:
