Well, it seems like the Slipknot hype train has officially left the station. Yesterday we reported that the group may very well be in the studio with Ross Robinson, who is located in Los Angeles, but that information only came from bassist Alessandro Venturella. Now the band has confirmed they are indeed in Los Angeles, as they've announced they're looking for people for an anniversary music video shoow. Presumably the music video will deal with the 20th birthday of their 1999 self-titled record, but who knows. Maybe it's a new song that'll be released as a celebration?
The shoot will take place on October 5 and if you want to participate, you can contact the band at [email protected].
We do know for absolute certain that a new Slipknot album is coming in 2019. Frontman Corey Taylor recently revealed he's begun the lyrics for the band's new album, which leads us to safely guess that the music is all wrapped up. In past interviews, Clown noted there are 27 new song ideas floating and as of the the last November, Clown claimed the band have seven or eight songs completed, although this summer Taylor noted they are up to 16. Taylor noted in a few interviews that fans could expect the heaviness of Iowa.
