STONE SOUR To Record New Album During SLIPKNOT's Hiatus

Slipknot is having some really interesting issues this week. The band's guitarist Jim Root has been hyping up the fact that he's been writing a new Slipknot record that Clown behoped would be out in 2017. That's exciting news considering the last time we got two Slipknot records within two years was in 1999 and 2001 with the self-titled and Iowa.

Then came the bombshell: Yesterday, Corey Taylor seemed to think the group is going on hiatus for a few years after its current tour cycle ends. So what's he going to be doing? According to a recent interview with Studio Brussel, Taylor wants to take some time off to do another Stone Sour record.

"2016, I'll probably wrap up touring with Slipknot, you know, around — like somewhere around this summer or whatever, and I'll take five minutes off and we'll start working on a new Stone Sour album."

Alright, so hypothetically the band keeps writing while Taylor's doing Stone Sour… we still have to wait a while. A record isn't just a record with an act like Stone Sour. This means a record and an extensive tour, which sucks for Slipknot fans! I'm sticking to my original conviction that the band should knock an EP out at least before taking a break.
