It's been a few days since we've gotten an update on the condition of heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne. His wife, Sharon, said today he was "doing good" and "breathing on his own."
The metal world got a scare after Ozzy Osbourne was hospitalized last Monday (February 4th), with complications from the flu, but it appears he's doing better. Ozzy Osbourne checked into Keck Hospital of USC.
Last week, Sharon tweeted "As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu. His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love."
Blabbermouth reports Sharon returned to her daily talk show, The Talk, today and offered an update. "He's doing good. He's breathing on his own," she said. "He's overcome by the response he's had."
Last week, the Sun reported Ozzy was briefly in the intensive care unit of the hospital.
A source said: “Doctors feared he could contract pneumonia which, in a person over 70, can be fatal. This sparked a lot of panic among those closest to him but doctors reassured everyone he was in the best possible hands.
“Ozzy’s a fighter and is getting better day by day. The worst is over, he’s smiling again, and he can’t wait to get up on stage.”
While The Sun is known for exaggerating the truth, it seems that Sharon's update about Ozzy "breathing on his own" would indicate that there was a time he wasn't breathing on his own.
Update: A video clip from The Talk confirms Ozzy was in the ICU.

It's all a very scary situation and we hope nothing for the best for the Prince of Darkness.
Earlier this month, Ozzy postponed the entirety of his European "No More Tours 2" tour, which was set to also include Judas Priest. Ozzy said he coughed so hard earlier this week, he burst a blood vessel in his eye.
Doctors have said it's best if he does not tour and just rests. Ozzy was diagnosed diagnosed with a severe upper-respiratory infection and doctors feared if Ozzy toured it could develop into pneumonia based on the winter weather conditions and the intense physicality of touring.
Ozzy offered this statement at the time:
"I'm completely devastated for having to postpone the European leg of my tour. It just seems that since October, everything I touch has turned to shit. First the staph infection in my thumb and now coming down with the flu and bronchitis.
"I want to apologize to all of my fans who have been so loyal over the years, my band, my crew and to Judas Priest for letting you all down. However, I promise the tour with Judas Priest will be completed. It's being rescheduled right now to start in September. Again, I apologize to everyone. God Bless. Love you all, Ozzy."
Our thoughts are with Ozzy for a speedy recovery.
