The book Lords of Chaos: The Bloody Rise of the Satanic Metal Underground came out in 1998, with a revision done in 2003. It was written by Michael Moynihan and Didrik Søderlind and is a completely non-fictional account of the early black metal scene. A whopping 12 years after the revision was done, the book is set to become a movie done up by former Bathory drummer Jonas Åkerlund!
When the movie is set to be filmed and all that important stuff is completely unclear right now, but we do know Rory Culkin (Scream 4, Signs) and Caleb Landry Jones (Antiviral, X-Men: First Class, Byzantium) have been cast to be in it! At least according to Bloody Disgusting they have been.
The roles of the two have not been announced either. We just know they will both be black metal'ed up for the film and portray a whole lot of Satanic muderin'.
I'm stoked.
Update: It was just announced that former Bathory drummer and renowend music video director Jonas Akerlund will be directing the film, which gets us more excited that this will be true to the original story.
