Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan says Axl Rose has some great new material for the band, and Slash says there is a new record in works. These comments have been flying around basically ever since the band reunited with Slash and McKagan in 2016.
Now in a new interview with Futoro 88.9 FM, Slash confirms the band will do a little touring in October (making Louder Than Life not their only 2019 show) and then really start to focus on their new record.
"After [The Conspirators play in] South America, we go straight to Europe and do the festivals over there. And then from Europe, we go back to the States and Canada and do our first Canadian tour, plus some U.S. dates. And that goes until August. And then after that, I'm gonna hook up with Guns N' Roses. Guns N' Roses has a small tour in October. And then… There's been so much talk about this [new] Guns N' Roses record, which we haven't actually done anything with. So we're gonna sort of focus on that. And then The Conspirators will be [regrouping] some time coming up, depending on what Guns N' Roses is doing. But I've already started putting together material for the new Conspirators record."
The new record will be the first Guns N' Roses record since 1993 to feature McKagan, Slash and Rose. Though really, they've only got one record between then and now, and we largely try to forget about half the songs that were on there.
