Last week Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward reunited with Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler to accept an award after having a largely publicized spat with Ozzy Osbourne. So did this mean Ward and Osbourne were burying the hatchet? Nope! According to NME, Bill Ward had the following to say.
“I’m in a huge dispute with Ozzy so that doesn’t really help and as far as I’m concerned, until that dispute is finished then I’m not gonna participate. They’ve already made an album without me so I’m sure they’d go on without me playing and that’s OK with me – I still love them just the same. I’d love to think I could [rejoin the band] but the things I’m asking for may be out of reach.”
Bassist Bill Ward said "it feels really nice to be with these two" about the ceremony, while Iommi said "we've been friends for a long time, you can't just lop someone off like that. We stay in touch with each other; we're always thinking of each other." So I guess it's just Ozzy that doesn't like Ward, or Sharon that doesn't like Ward which then in turn means that Ozzy doesn't like Ward.
Who knows if the group will get the classic lineup together one last time before Black Sabbath is over in 2016.
