BLACK SABBATH Can't Shutup About How "Unfit" Bill Ward Was for 13 Recording Sessions

Did you know that Bill Ward was unable to "keep up" during 13 recording sessions?

Did you know that Bill Ward was unable to "keep up" during 13 recording sessions?

This is it. This is the last time I am mentioning anything about members of Black Sabbath saying things about former drummer Bill Ward, but I'll get to that whole bag in a second. In an interview with Time Out Dubai, Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler said Bill Ward was "unfit" and wanted to take too long for the next album.

"We started off with Bill Ward this time around and it just didn't happen… To be blatantly honest, he just couldn't do it anymore. He was thinking that we could take, like, ten years to do the album, whereas we knew we only had so long to do it and get out on tour, while you're still good at what you do. Bill was a bit unfit, and ironically in hospital with intestinal problems, so he'd have had to leave the tour anyway if we'd gone out with him."

Holy shit! Are you telling me that maybe, just maybe, the dudes in Sabbath might be a little sour about Ward? I mean seriously, every single week I see an article about someone in Sabbath talking about Ward not being in the band. I have forgone most of them because I don't care but now I feel like I should just make this post so we can get it all settled once and for all and I never have to post another damned thing about Black Sabbath and Bill Ward ever, ever again.

  • Ozzy has saidsome pretty rude things about Ward. I don't think he likes him very much.
  • Geezer Butler said the same "he's fat" things (see above).
  • I don't think Tony Iommi cares because he's too busy being great at guitar.
  • Bill Ward is pissed and sad (which I get and I'm not knocking the dude for).

There. That's it. No more "he's fat" and "gosh we don't miss him" posts. To be fair though, in that same interview, Geezer said this:

I love Bill – we all love Bill – it’s a horrible thing he couldn’t complete it. Sabbath is Sabbath, it’s the four of us, we were almost going to call the album 75 Percent at one time [laughs], because that’s what it felt like.

So, sure it might be a case of the media egging on the band, but just stop givin' em ammo!

If the band do another album I half expect it to be a Taylor Swift-type thing where they just write a bunch of stuff about how he doesn't call them anymore and they miss the smell of his cologne on stage. Unless the next post is something like Bill Ward rejoins Black Sabbath to record quintuple album, or even Bill Ward has enough of Ozzy and punches him in the face, then I am not interested.
