Fear Factory are currently in the midst of a 20th anniversary tour for their landmark album, Demanufacture. Notably missing have been some tour dates in the United States, but that's no coincidence.
In a new interview with Rreverb.com (that's not a typo), he says promoters in the U.S. aren't interested in booking the tour:
"We'd like to. We're going to figure something out. We'd still like to do a Demanufacture tour of the United States, but it's up in the air. The promoters aren't interested… It costs money. But hopefully we'll see that change in the next couple of months."
It seems like a no-brainer that this tour would sell some tickets, but, of course the question is how many? Perhaps the problem is that Fear Factory are asking for too large of a guarantee that promoters think they can't make their money back on. Or perhaps it's something else entirely.
It's just another example of the sad state of touring in the U.S. right now for metal bands.
