Something fishy is going on with Woodstock. The controversial festival is making it's return for its 50th anniversary and the lineup left something to be desired for hard rock and metal fans. It just looks like any other festival.
But, it's slowly turning into a Fyre Fest fiasco. First up, one of the headliners, The Black Keys have pulled out of the event, citing a "scheduling conflict," with a statement noting “the band wants to let fans know as soon as possible and before tickets [to Woodstock] go on sale.” Speaking of tickets going on sale, they're not!
Tickets were supposed to go on sale Monday, April 22nd, to coincide with Earth Day but now Billboard is reporting that has been delayed. No reason was given for the delay. `
The following statement was sent to booking agents: “There is currently a hold on the Woodstock 50 on-sale date,. We are waiting on an official press statement from Woodstock 50 regarding updated announce, ticket pricing, and overall festival information. We will get this information to you as soon as we receive it.”
Some agents feared the fest may have lost investors leading to complications.
Woodstock 50 is scheduled to go down August 16th-18th in Watkins Glen, New York. The lineup, sans The Black Keys, can be seen below:
