Tom Araya On Possibility Of A New SLAYER Record: "We'll See"

Tom Araya doesn't sound confident.

Back in 2016, Slayer's Kerry King said vocalist and bassist Tom Araya's plans for the band were unclear, and should things pan out, there wouldn't even be a new album until at least 2018. Now Araya is voicing his concerns about the band's business matters, saying things need to be ironed out after the death of Jeff Hanneman.

In an interview with Futuro, it doesn't really sound like Araya is confident about the band's future.

"I don’t know. I know that when we recorded the album itself, there was a lot of music … Once we get done with what we’re doing, we’ll have to sit down and discuss it and talk it out. [..] Me and Kerry are still trying to put the final touches on the business aspect of things, as far as the band goes. Cause of Jeff‘s passing, we still haven’t put closure to all of that, so we’re still working on that, and we’ll see. We’ll see how things go and we’ll see if there’s a new album."

King sure as hell sounds like he's all about doing a new album, but Araya doesn't seem like he's in love with the idea.

Araya has made it no secret that he is not a fan of touring anymore and even Kerry King doesn't know how long Araya will last in the band. Is Slayer even Slayer anymore without Araya's signature yells?
