Discogs just published their list of the most expensive vinyl purchased on their site throughout December 2020, and of course there's some rock and metal on there. Coming in at No. 30 is a 1977 Chiswick Records pressing of Motörhead's self-titled album that sold for $1,829.00, while just one above that at No. 20 was a 1979 Plan 9 pressing of the Misfits' Horror Business 7" that sold for only a smidge more at $1,897.00.

Then we get to the Metallica and Bad Brains records. Clocking in at No. 9 is a 1989 Vertigo pressing of Metallica's Ride the Lightning with a limited red band logo that sold for a whopping $3,414.00. Then at No. 4 is an original self-released 1980 pressing of the Bad Brains Pay To Cum! 7", which sold for $3,600.

Don't worry, none of these even come close to the No. 1 record os December 2020, which was the most expensive vinyl ever sold on the site. It was a 12" copy of Scaramanga Silk's Choose Your Weapon, which sold for the cost of a down payment on a nice house at $41,095.
