A few months back, we learned Avenged Sevenfold had somewhat of a tumultuous relationship with their record label, Warner Bros., and their contract dispute ended up going to court earlier this year. Last week, with the release of their new single called "The Stage," we learned that the track was released via a new label, Avenged Sevenfold Partnership, which was listed as an imprint of Capitol Records.
That led us to assume the lawsuit with Warner was settled out of court and the band was let out of their contract early, as they desired. The band had begun the promotion for their new record, which is rumored be called Voltaic Oceans, and the rumored but not yet confirmed release date would be December 9th. In an interesting move, Warner Bros. today announced that they will be releasing an Avenged Sevenfold best-of compilation titled The Best Of 2005-2013. It is no coincidence that the release is scheduled for one week before the band's new album, likely to undercut some sales, or possibly create confusion when less knowledgable consumers, like parents, end up buying the wrong "new" Avenged Sevenfold release.
Regardless, here is the tracklisting for the comp – would you say these are Avenged Sevenfold's best tracks?
