Using an aging process called Solera, Motörhead's new premium rum was kept for eight long years in barrels previously used to store bourbon, and now it's ready to be unleashed into the wild on December 1st – just in time for discerning headbangers to add it to their holiday hot-buttered rum cocktails.
Made in the Dominican Republic, the dark rum has a plethora of different flavor notes such as elements of dried dates, vanilla, fudge, chocolate, arrack (fermented sap), muscovado sugar, orange peel, and spice. Now, onto the all-important details on how you might acquire a bottle of Motörhead Rum this coming weekend.
Each bottle will run you about $40 USD but can only be acquired via Swedish beverage company Brands For Fans, whose past booze collabs include Ghost, Rammstein, and the Scorpions, to name a few. Initially, the rum will only be available for purchase in Sweden – WOMP WOMP (unless you are in Sweden of course, and if you are, congratulations!). However, inquiries on how to obtain the dark boozy beverage outside of Sweden can be sent to [email protected].
