Ex-Megadeth guitarist and Japanese superstar Marty Friedman played the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Marathon on March 6. You can check out a clip of Friedman's killer performance below, which was made all the more special given the fact that the 2021 marathon was cancelled due to COVID.
"Just played the Opening Ceremony at the Tokyo Marathon!" said Friedman. "This is my 4th year doing it, but today I played 3 times as the runners spread out their starting times into 3 groups. After many postponements, to see the marathon back up and running (pun intended) was a wonderful and positive sight to see!"
