Greetings tech fiends, it's that time of the week again. Before we dive into today's column, here's the usual weekly reminder that if you're looking to find even more sick bands, you can do so here.

After a few weeks spent focusing on deep dives into killer old releases, we're back with another exclusive premiere from a great band. Today's column showcases the release of "Absurd Identity",  a new single from Chicago-based technical grindcore/death metal outfit Morgue Supplier. Yet another lesser-known group that Transcending Obscurity Records is pushing which is fucking excellent. The band's new album, Inevitability comes out on May 13 via Transcending Obscurity.

For those new to the band, Morgue Supplier consists of multiple members of Drug Honkey who is arguably a much better-known group. If anything, I'm kicking myself for not being aware until this year that Morgue Supplier has been a thing since 1999, and am glad that Transcending Obscurity founder Kunal continues to sign and spread new music from underrated acts like this with a frequency that makes other labels that push mediocre shit seem embarrassing by comparison. To rectify this failure on my part, the launch of "Absurd Identity" below should convert some of the non-converted amongst us, I hope.

"Abstract Identity" draws from a wide berth of styles and eras of extreme metal, and yet to me, it reminds me most of Lucid Interval-era Cephalic Cephalic along with Maruta and Dendritic Arbor at times. In essence, Morgue Supplier's music exists within that weird spot between technical rigidity and unpredictable batshit craziness which seemed to be more of a "thing" in the tech-death sphere during the early 2000s. Whether it's the current crop of bands looking to the past or not, there's no doubt that Pyrrhon and a legion of others have helped revitalize this particular strain of technical-minded death metal in the present that was absent for a number of years.

I asked if we could get some more information about today's premiere. The band was happy to share that "Absurd Identity” delves into subject matter regarding individuals who are completely devoid of sympathy or empathy. "Those who are absolutely shallow beings. Those who only take and never give. It was the first song I wrote for the record, and when all was complete, it ended up fitting perfectly as the obvious way to begin the album."

So be sure to check out our premiere of Morgue Supplier's "Absurd Identity" below. Inevitability is a promising release from a band that deserves more praise. You know what to do. Pre-orders can be placed here if you like the song we're launching today. You can follow the group over on the Morgue Supplier Facebook page.
