Hey there tech-fiends, it's that time of the week again. I swear we'll get back to the flashy and melodic normal tech-death noodle tunes soon, but when Willowtip asked if we wanted to premiere a horrific Ingurgitating Oblivion track, I had to say yes as a longtime fan.
For those new to Ingurgitating Oblivion, they're based in Germany and are considered underground legends in some death metal circles, and rightfully so. While parts of their sound bring to mind Ulcerate, Gorguts, Immolation, and Deathspell Omega, the group has always had a unique sound and take on death metal that's all their own. We've got a massive 9-minute song to show you today called "Amid The Offal, Abide With Me", and it's the first single from the band's upcoming album, Vision Wallows In Symphonies Of Light. Beyond the aforementioned comparisons, theirs also a strong brutal death-minded undercurrent at work, plus a range of atmospheric and progressive elements woven in throughout the songs rampaging and dissonance heavy style of technical death metal.
After 2014's Continuum Of Absence, Ingurgitating Oblivion parted ways with several members, but longtime core architect Florian Engelke moved forwards anyways, finding plenty of new musicians to work with, including none other than Defeated Sanity drummer Lille Gruber whose percussive insanity is on full display in today's premiere of "Amid The Offal, Abide With Me".
I suspect pre-order links for Vision Wallows In Symphonies Of Light, along with more information, will be coming soon from Willowtip Records and the band. Stay tuned. Be sure to follow Ingurgitating Oblivion on their Facebook page too.
