Heart is not exactly metal, but certainly metal-adjacent, and in my opinion, they are a criminally underrated band. MetalSucks tells me that they've had Guns N Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke in their touring band forever, and have previously collaborated with Jerry Cantrell, Duff McKagan, and Dave Navarro.
Well, now its Metallica frontman James Hetfield's turn. Hetfield lends some vocals to the title track of Heart's new album, Beautiful Broken. The track is a pretty solid rock song, likely not to reinvent the wheel but its fun hearing James sing in a band that isn't Metallica. I can't think of any other time James guested on another band's album, can you?
You'll hear plenty more Hetfieldisms when Metallica release their new album, which according to James, will be out sometime in the fall.
