Metal Church recently announced their new album Generation Nothing to be out on October 22 via guitarist Kurdt Vanderhoof's Body of Work Recordings as well as Rat Pak Records, and even teased the record a little bit… but now you get to hear what's up!
The first song we've got is the title track of Generation Nothing, which is basically like getting punched directly in the teeth by thrash repeatedly for five minutes straight. It's a pretty simple song with a whole lot of crushing riffs and some seriously killer vocals by Ronny Munroe. It reminds me a little bit of Anthrax with a whole lot of hair-metal-kind-of-spice thrown in, and in no way is that a bad thing. Next up is…
"Scream," which wastes zero time in destroying you. At least "Generation Nothing" sauntered in and said hello before you beating the life out of you. "Scream" just kicks down your door and proceeds to make you a part of the floor. I'm really impressed by both songs; they're obviously thrown back in time to a retro-kind of sound, but have that new sheen on them. Metal Church are doing it right.
