Long-Standing Doom Titans ZARAZA Return With Another New Song Called "Inti Raymi"

It has been over a decade since Zaraza released new music. The industrial, sludge-ridden doom duo started in 1993, bringing together Brian Meagher andJacek Furmankiewicz. The pairing builds doom metal that subverts typical classification.

Now with the landscape of heavy metal more fluid than ever, the duo's return seems timely. Their first full-length in almost 11 years, entitled Spasms of Rebirth, fits wonderfully into the shifting tides of doom. Take "Inti Raymi" for example. The five-minute offering is rife with hazy, industrial tones that resemble the mighty Godflesh. Yet, vocal stylings lean towards a death doom growl. Both Meagher and Furmankiewicz pull their fair share of weight in Zaraza's music. Jacek handles main vocal duties, his Polish accent adds a certain sinister quality to the track. Brian's samples and keyboards bring a mechanized torment to compliment his instrumental contributions.

Spasms of Rebirth gets a physical release on July 17 through Transcending Obscurity Records. Listen and watch the music video for "Inti Raymi" below. Also, check out some other tracks from the album at Bandcamp.
