Usually I'm on the fence about newer thrash-type bands because it's so easy to just sound rehashy and boring as hell. That being said, the new Ringworm track straight up tore my head clean off my shoulders upon my first listen through.
"Hammer of the Witch" comes at you with a ferocity unlike any other but never settles into any of the cliches you'd expect it to. Case and point for me at least would be right after the intro section where I thought blasts would be present (or some other Slayer-type thing), but boom. Groove central would a heavy-ass riff! Everything about this song straight up kills it.
You better be excited about Hammer of the Witch dropping on Mar. 18 via Relapse.
