MIKE PATTON's Cover Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Theme Song Is All You Need Today

We don't know why, but this is strangely satisfying.

Back in March of 2021, it was reported that Faith No More and Mr. Bungle vocalist Mike Patton did a remake version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song, which was recorded for inclusion in the video game retro-release, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge which was made available this week on June 16.

Well, fortunately for us, there is now a soundtrack available on YouTube that compliments the game, and Mike Patton's rendition of the TMNT theme is also included—as the opening track, no less. You can check the entire soundtrack out above, and also right here.

If you're feeling kind of nostalgic, this kooky cut will be sure to retro-rock your weekend proper. And if you thought FNM's covers of The Commodores' "Easy" or the Dead Kennedys' "Let's Lynch the Landlord" was musical comedy at its most high brow, well, just wait until you hear this hilarious, splintering cover of the beloved TMNT theme. Trust us: you need this today

A synopsis of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, which has been provided by Sony’s PlayStation website, and can be read below:

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge features groundbreaking gameplay rooted in timeless classic brawling mechanics, brought to you by the beat 'em up experts at Dotemu (Streets of Rage 4) and Tribute Games. Reuniting Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael, you'll be kicking shell as you face off against Shredder and his faithful Foot Clan alone or grab your best buds and play with up to four players simultaneously! Invoking the Turtles' legendary 1987 design and paying homage to classic TMNT games like Turtles In Time, beautiful full-color pixel art graphics will give you a full dose of turtle nostalgia."
