The track from members of Alice In Chains, Mastodon and The Dillinger Escape Plan, is catchy and damn funky, with an infectious hook sure to get stuck in your head for days.

I've been lucky enough to get an advanced stream of the new Giraffe Tongue Orchestra album, Broken Lines, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite releases of the year. I've been waiting to hear this thing for years. Of course, the project is the brainchild of The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman and Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds, as well as vocalist William DuVall.

The most impressive thing about this project is it's uniqueness. It does not sound like Mastodon, it does not sound like The Dillinger Escape Plan, although there are moments where you could clearly hear which guitarist wrote which part… this project is wholly unique, creating an awesome sound that is almost like a throwback to 70s rock bands. Today, you can stream one of my favorite tracks off the album, "Blood Moon." The track is catchy and damn funky, with an infectious hook sure to get stuck in your head for days. The track premiered on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show with Daniel P Carter. You can hear it in the player below at the 33:40 mark:

So catchy! As much as I loved the band's first single, "Crucifixion," I dig this track so much more.

The band's debut album, Broken Lines, will be released September 23 on Party Smasher Inc. You can pre-order the album for $8.99 here.
