I had some high hopes for Act Of Defiance, the new group featuring former Megadeth guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover, Shadows Fall's Matt Bachand on bass and vocalist Henry Derek. Their first single "Throwback," had some interesting riffing, but overall wasn't too memorable for me. So how does their second single, "Refrain and Refracture" do?
It's okay, I guess. Again, the riffage is good, the musicianship is on point, the vocals are not bad, but overall, for me, it isn't too memorable. How do you feel about it?
Act of Defiance's debut album, Birth And The Burial is out August 21st on Metal Blade.
