When In Flames' first new single, "Rusted Nail" surfaced last week, I called it Gothenburg easy listening. This apparently offended some die-hard In Flames fans, but guys, I was not trying to be insulting. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just not very heavy. Again, that's not a bad thing – it's just what the music sounds like to me.
Their new song, "Through Oblivion" further proves my point as it totally seems like something you would hear on the radio in Sweden. I will say it's pretty catchy and do dig the riff. Here is the stream, available for only 24 hours:
