It's been two years since a real release from these legends in the making, and we are proud to present Heavy Temple's latest: Chassit.

Heavy Temple have stood proud as Philadelphias strongest doom export for years now. Their earthy vibes and ethereal compositions are all grounded in a far older tradition and remind us of the burning power this music has always had. I've always thought there is something very human about Heavy Temple, they are a group who understand the sheer potency of the genre but infuse it with so much else that you're not listening to 'just another doom band.'

In a crowded genre Heavy Temple have always placed an emphasis on frequent touring, DIY ethics and contributing to their local music scene. Heavy Temple are the sort of bad that most local bands aspire to be, exciting, unique and pushing for a future that could be far beyond what many of us might dream possible. If you're trying to find the next big thing in doom, a band who seem to fuse SubrosaWindhand, and Pentagram would probably be the ticket, and that's exactly what Heavy Temple are.

Here's what the bands singer, High Priestess Nighthawk had to say:

This album has been a long, strange trip. I started writing for "Chassit" after the dissolution of the first line up, but the songs didn't really come together until the most recent incarnation of the band. The result is a much more fuzzed out, aggressive version of Heavy Temple. As these things sometimes go, the album was held up in mixing and mastering, which meant the Temple got the chance to really perfect these four tracks live. We like these songs, we're excited to be releasing something new after a couple of years and be able to play to a broader audience. That being said, if you dig this album, come see us live for the real deal.
