The new era of Slayer has begun, Slayer 2013 if you will and it will feature founding members Kerry King & Tom Araya, Exodus' Gary Holt, and utility drummer Paul Bostaph. The new era of the band kicked off yesterday as they made their live "debut" at Poland’s Impact Festival, a little over a month after the tragic passing of Jeff Hanneman. So how did they do?
First, let's take a look at the set-list, which seems like a rather typical Slayer affair:
- “World Painted Blood”
- “Hallowed Point”
- “War Ensemble”
- “Hate Worldwide”
- “At Dawn They Sleep”
- “Stain Of Mind”
- “Disciple”
- “Bloodline”
- “Mandatory Suicide”
- “Chemical Warfare”
- “Seasons In The Abyss”
- “Dead Skin Mask”
- “Raining Blood”
- “South Of Heaven”
- “Angel Of Death”
Overall, this set is comprable to ones they were playing last year, but now the true question, how did it sound? To the bootlegs…

Still sounds like Slayer to me! Personally, I would still see this version of Slayer. I wouldn't go out of my way to travel across three states to see them, but if there was a festival I was going to and Slayer were on the bill, you best believe I'd be there.
How do you think Slayer 2013 did?
