Perhaps the album I am most looking forward to this year is the new album from Gojira. We've been waiting seemingly forever for the follow-up to L'Enfant Sauvage. Okay, it's only been four years, but that seems like an eternity.
But, we are on the cusp of hearing a new album, because today, in a lengthy profile on Rolling Stone, the band shared a one-minute teaser, and it sounds awesome:

I highly recommend reading the article, which has the Duplantier brothers (frontman Joe and drummer Mario) discussing the struggle to get to this point, which included building out their own studio space in New York and having to drop everything to deal with their mother dying back in their home country of France. It's a pretty eye-opening read, and it's clear that this is a very personal album for the band and I can't wait to hear it.
Expect the not yet titled new album to be out sometime this summer on Roadrunner Records.
