In an odd coincidence, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor was booked to perform at famed Minneapolis, MN venue First Avenue, the venue where a young Prince cut his teeth on the day that Prince sadly passed away.
So it is with no surprise that Taylor performed a cover one of Prince's defining songs, "Purple Rain." Even better, he totally fucking nailed it:

Taylor posted a live stream on his Facebook page, and he totally killed it. Taylor is promoting his book, You're Making Me Hate You, which is available now. Taylor will be at the Capitol Theater in Clearwater, FL on April 24th for another solo date.
