I recently got to watch the Sound City documentary, and it's a pretty great film, if you're a music buff. My favorite portion of the doc is the last act, where it's basically Grohl inviting all these people to jam with him for what would become the Sound City soundtrack, Real to Reel.
The one performance that absolutely stands out is the one by Grohl with Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor on the keys and Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme on the bass. They create magic together:

The ambience builds and builds and then shoots all over your face towards the end of the song. I've been jamming this track all week. What's even more impressive is that the three of them pumped this bad boy out IN ONE TAKE, ALL IMPROVISED. They just got in a room and jammed it out, and they made sure to tape it. Here is the entire jam without vocals:

Clearly, they had a great time since Reznor will be making a guest appearance on the new Queens of the Stone Age album, which Grohl is drumming on. But I think they should take this experiment further and just jam out a full album of tunes. Pretty please! With a cherry on top? Just do it!!
