Did you know Rob Zombie's new movie, The Lords of Salem has been out for a month now? Chances are you didn't, or perhaps did and decided to skip it because the movie tanked at the box office.
But, this is Zombie's fifth horror movie, counting his two Halloween films, House of 1000 Corpses and my personal favorite, The Devil's Rejects, leaving to ask how much more horror does Zombie have to tell? Turns out not much at all, as he is ready to move on.
In a new interview with the Phoenix Sun-Times, Zombie spoke of his love for monster movies, and the interviewer asked him if Zombie ever considered a monster movie remake to which Zombie replied:
No. I’m not really thinking of doing anything . . . Lords of Salem is my last sort of horror-genre related film for a really long time.
This certainly doesn't mean Zombie is done directing movies. His next film will be a hockey film, Broad Street Bullies about the 1974 Philadelphia Flyers, which he compared to "Rocky meets Boogie Nights"
Filming is scheduled to begin in the fall after Zombie wraps his summer trek on the Mayhem Festival. Metal Injection is giving away tickets to each stop of the tour. Enter to win here.
