The Lords Of Chaos film, based off the 1998 black metal history book Lords Of Chaos: The Bloody Rise of the Satanic Metal Underground written by Michael Moynihan and Didrik Søderlind, is currently in production. We got to see a trailer for the film in the music video for Metallica's "ManUNkind" video, and now we can check out some photos and footage from the very set itself, courtesy of Filter Film og TV.
According to the site, director (and ex-Bathory drummer) Jonas Åkerlund is using Oslo as a stand in location for Bergen, and "is concerned with period details: extras are dressed in nittitallsgevanter and a hair salon in the street is for the occasion turned into 'Nordnes video store.'"
The film will star Emory Cohen, Jack Kilmer and Sky Ferreira, alongside Rory Culkin who you might know from Signs and Scream 4. From the music end of things, Darkthrone's Fenriz is vehemently against the film being made, and Mayhem's bassist said in 2015 that he would do anything to stop the film being made.
