Educator Christina E. Cox was trying to teacher her students about the start of World War I when comedy gold struck.
World War I all started when Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary was assassinated in Sarajevo by Gavrilo Princip. Cox tried to give her students a hint about the archduke's name, saying it's also the name of a modern band (them being Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand). A student guessed Archduke Metallica, and now here we are. Wondering why there's never been an Archduke Metallica, and why Metallica isn't printing Archduke Metallica shirts literally right this second.
Give us Archduke Metallica, universe. We need it.
"Today, when introducing WWI, a student raised her hand and brought up the death of a certain archduke. Nobody knew his name, so as a hint, I offered that he shares his name with a band.
"Gentle reader, my students asked if there had perhaps been an Archduke Metallica."
