Who doesn't love a haunted house? Hell, who am I kidding? Everyone loves a haunted house. But, how about a Slipknot-inspired haunted house right in the heart of America—and Slipknot's home town of Des Moines, Iowa?! Say it ain't so? Well, it once was, believe it or not.
Back in 2018, The Slaughterhouse—which specializes in haunted house attractions in Des Moines—created a fully and completely Slipknot-inspired haunted house. At the time, it was reported that the attraction involved 40 actors [across] 10,000 square feet, and featured a '"maggot'-filled theme cake." Yum! It's worth noting that Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor is a massive horror fanatic, much like other metal legends including Phil Anselmo of Pantera, and most famously, Kirk Hammett of Metallica. Man, all this talk of haunted houses is giving me the creeps—I better jet!
