Pope-a-mania is running wild in the United States. Half of New York City is currently shut down since the pope is here and his effect is being felt near and wide.
We've already learned that the Pope forced Ghost to rescheduled their Philly gig, and we learned the controversial way that Pope Francis made Papa Emeritus lose, but now it looks like the Pope really wants to get in on the rock music game as well.
According to Rolling Stone, Pope Francis will release Wake Up! on November 27th. Lest you think this is a joke, there is already an iTunes pre-order link. The album will be 11 tracks and will feature some of the Pope's speeches on top of a soundtrack of original prog rock composed by Don Giulio Neroni and Tony Pagliuca of the band Le Orme.
Furthermore, the Pope is streaming his first single, “Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward!” below. It's pretty mellow at first, but really picks up towards the end.
The Pope is prog-rock, who knew?
