SLUTAVVERKNING Streams Avant-Punk New Single "Längtans Törst"

It gets weird, and I want more.

Slutavverkning, Stockholm's jazzy punk-meets-metal band, has teamed up with Metal Injection to announce their debut album Levande Charader due out September 1. We're streaming the first single "Längtans Törst" right now, whose runtime encompasses everything from genuinely jazzy interludes to abrasive, skronky punk rock.

"'Längtans Törst' is sort of a bridge between the preceding EPs and the record," said guitarist Pelle Andersson. "The oldest of the new songs, also the only one featuring both our old and new woodwind players. Per Texas Johansson plays baritone sax riffs and a lovely smooth solo, while Isak Hedtjärn joins with some weird and beautiful harmonies on clarinet."

“It is a concept album about a troubled pig farmer," added vocalist Jon Ekström. "At this point he is 'happy in the cork', as we say in Swedish. He likes to drink. A lot. A curse and a blessing for him over the story."

Längtans Törst is also the first Slutavverkning recording to feature bassist Per Wiberg (ex-Opeth, Candlemass) on bass, who also provided the artwork for Levande Charader. Levande Charader will be out on vinyl, cassette and digital on September 1 via Feral Cuts. Pre-orders are available here.
