One thing that makes me feel really old is the trend in the last 5 or so years of expanding ear lobes, and throwing plugs in those massive gauges. Some people take it to such an extreme that I really want to puke, and then it hits me that I am not a young person anymore.
I always wonder when kids expand their lobes, what happens when you're 30 and you realize you made a huge mistake? Earlobe reconstructive surgery happens!
That's the process that former Suffokate vocalist Ricky Hoover underwent. Hoover had the largest gauges ever, to the point of absurdity and finally has come to his senses about the situation.
I had no idea that earlobe reconstructive surgery was a thing, but I guess of course it is. After a quick search, I found that the surgery can be as cheap as $350 a lobe or go as high up as $1200. So, this was a rather pricey mistake fix for Ricky.
Lesson here kids: leave your earlobes alone!
