Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee had some fun with the crowd at at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. last night. Lee tossed some beer and "non-broken" ribs into the crowd to remind everyone that his ribs are still broken and that he's still out there drumming. Because hey, might as well make some jokes about a shitty situation, right? No word on if anyone ate the ribs. Hopefully they didn't.
Lee has been performing part of Mötley Crüe's setlist before handing off the sticks to Tommy Clufetos (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath) for the remainder of the show, save for an encore or two depending on how he's feeling. Lee has also sort of addressed how he broke his ribs, saying "I'm not gonna tell you how because it's fuckin' bullshit. I wish I had a cool story for you, but I definitely don't, man; it ain't fuckin' cool."
Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx has since praised Lee on Twitter for playing any of the band's set, considering it must hurt like hell.
"The fact that Tommy was told by the doctor to not play with 4 broken ribs & he beasted half our show is a miracle. We are a band and are proud of his strength. He is doing the whole tour and day by day adding more songs. What a fucking animal. Anybody out there ever break ur ribs?"
Mötley Crüe is now on their stadium tour with Def Leppard, Poison, and Joan Jett And The Blackhearts.
