While Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have had a roller coaster of a marriage, the duo celebrated 39 years of marriage this weekend. Their anniversary was on Sunday, July 4th. They were married in 1982.
Sharon shared two photos from their wedding (view below) and shared this message "Thank you for 39 years. For the most incredible life together. The crazy, wonderful and insane times. Yes, pain and sorrow too, but we got through it. We worked so hard for years professionally and personally. We succeed together. You are my soul, my life. What a fantastic life we have lived so far, the best thing is there’s more to come. Every day is an adventure, every day I love you more and respect you more. My soulmate, my love and my friend here’s to our next adventure! Love you always."
Ozzy kept his message short and sweet. "Happy Anniversary My Love! – July 4, 1982".
Recently, the duo revealed have discussed a biopic about their courtship is in the works. After the success of biopics from the likes of Queen, Motley Crue and Elton John, they began pitching their own movie. Things are in motion according to their son Jack.
"There is absolutely things in motion right now to make that a reality," Jack said during an appearance on "The Jasta Show". "I think in the next few months, you'll probably see something coming up about it. But we haven't landed [at a studio] yet. So, fingers crossed."
In 2018, Sharon told Variety how the movie “starts the day we meet and will focus on how our lives were totally different but very similar in ways: I was brought up by a powerful, successful father, — the late, famously tough Black Sabbath/Small Faces/ELO manager Don Arden — and Ozzy was brought up extremely poor and somewhat abused,” she says of the drama, currently in the scripting phase. “It’s definitely going to be a tearjerker. It’s not going to be a sex-and-drugs movie at all. Ozzy is so much more than that. I would hate to be a cliché.”
In a 2019 interview, Sharon told Variety "I don't want to do another rock and roll, sex, drugs and money movie about a musician," Sharon said. "That's not what I'm doing. There hasn't been a movie about a woman that actually works on the management side — that's a true story — and somebody that succeeds through the struggle and you come out the other side."
Sharon has previously approached renowned director Danny Boyle (28 Days Later, Trainspotting) to helm the film. She says the movie shows both of their childhoods and ends at their marriage in 1982. "It's everything before we get married," she said. "It's the madness of my childhood, growing up in the industry with a powerful father who was somewhat violent." Sharon has said she would want a complete unknown to play Ozzy.
Ozzy's and Sharon's marriage was in trouble in 2016 after Ozzy cheated on Sharon with his hairdresser. Sharon threw around some really serious accusations too, saying she might not be able to ever trust Ozzy again, and that he's cheated multiple times with multiple women, including a Russian teenager. Ozzy has gone on record admitting he has a sex addiction, saying it is the worst addiction he had.
After attending therapy sessions, Sharon has since forgiven Ozzy and the couple even renewed their vows over Christmas 2016.
