After the tragic news of Eddie Van Halen's passing surfaced a few months ago, some fans at least took comfort in the fact that the  Van Halen guitarist made peace with former frontman Sammy Hagar. Unfortunately, the same could not be said about former bassist Michael Anthony.

Speaking with Talkin’ Rock with Meltdown, Anthony revealed he sadly never had a chance to say goodbye.

“We actually hadn’t spoken [for many years], and unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to. And, you know, it kind of bothers me, because we had some issues that were never resolved. But, I mean, what can you do? We were on track [for] a reunion, which I’m really sad that it never happened. But, you know, life and the show goes on.”

Recently, the band's manager, Irving Azoff, revealed that plans were in the works to do a massive stadium tour in the summer of 2019, with Van Halen, with David Lee Roth reuniting with Michael Anthony, and planned to have big openers like Foo Fighters and Metallica.

Hagar and Anthony dedicated a performance of "Right Now" to Eddie shortly after his death.
