Hardcore band Wacko recently played a Denny's in Santa Ana, CA which of course resulted in some damage.
The restaurant is seeking $1,000 from the 17-year old promoter of the show, who launched a GoFundMe saying he's only willing to pay $600 and needs help. The story has reached the mainstream news outlets and Fox News reached out to the Denny's corporate chain for comment (via The PRP).
The restaurant chain explained why they are still asking for the money.
“Denny’s is a family-friendly restaurant and while we do have banquet space available at some restaurants, we do not allow events that can disrupt the dining experience of our guests. The manager was unaware a concert was planned, and the event organizers have been asked to pay for damages.”
Alright, so I have some questions for Denny's.
- If you manager didn't okay the concert, then who did? How was no managerial staff aware this was happening?
- Shouldn't this be the financial responsibility of whatever employee let the show go on? A band, gear, and crowd didn't magically appear in the restaurant.
- Denny's have banquet halls?
The promoter has raised way over the $1,000 Denny's is asking for too. So the situation can easily be resolved.
