Last summer, footage spread of Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor slapping a cellphone out of the hands of a fan in the front row of a Slipknot concert. The footage caused quite a debate as to who was right: Taylor for making sure the kid pays attention to the show or the kid because "what if it was an emergency," or "hey he paid good money, he can enjoy the show however he chooses."
Taylor later defended his actions saying "If I see someone, and it’s so obvious they’re not even there, you’ve got to poke them with a stick to get their attention sometimes." That's all well and good, but one fan, who happens to be a listener of the RIP a Livecast, noticed a bit of hypocrisy on Taylor's part.
Yesterday, Slipknot released a live music video for the track "Before I Forget," featuring footage shot entire by fans on their cell phones. Livecast listener Zane noticed the hypocrisy here:
@CoreyTaylorRock Ya smack dudes phones outta their hand but then make a video with fan's phone footage? Can I use my phone or not, man?

To be fair, Taylor acknowledged Zane and agreed with the point and completely owned up to it:
Hahahaha FUCK, you make a damn good point.
Yeah, I'm an asshole… https://t.co/uAA1I6oTOF— Corey Taylor (@CoreyTaylorRock) January 6, 2017
You have to hand it to Taylor for being honest about the whole situation, even if it isn't the biggest deals. Could this lead to a kinder, gentler Taylor?
