Dave Lombardo Posts Touching Tribute To SLAYER Bandmate Jeff Hanneman

A week after Slayer legend Jeff Hanneman's death, Dave Lombardo is remembering his former band mate and best friend.

I can't believe it's been a week since we lost Hanneman, but here we are. Dave Lomarbo clearly has Hanneman on the mind, as he posted a new update, with the above picture and a message that read:

This picture was taken at the Troubadour in Hollywood around 1982. Jeff was the guy that shaved his head and shared the music he was so inspired by. I enjoyed Dead Kennedy's, Circle Jerks, Black Flag and the Germs with him. My drumming was getting faster and Jeff was writing original songs with a Punk attitude. The fusion of Heavy Metal and Punk took over Slayers early mediocre style, hence a new force was born. Thank you Jeff for your inspiring discovery of Punk rock that has continued to shape my personal drumming style.

So not only did Jeff write the band's good songs and everything, but got Lombardo into drumming? Damn dude, it's like Hanneman was Slayer all himself or something… still, a whole week without Hanneman. Just surreal to think we were shitting on them dudes a few weeks back about their choices. Time flies, huh?
