Video Games
Posted by msrcast on August 8th, 2008
Evil C. here from MSRcast, and I'm here to bring you my first bit of news about games for a new weekly (semi-weekly) video games article. Roadrunner Records and Rock Band have some good news for metal fans next week. The downloadable content next week is going to pack a metal wallop. The pack will be 480 MSP (aka $5.99) and single tracks will be 80 MSP (aka $0.99) for the first month. From that point on the pack will be 800 MSP (aka $9.99) and the single tracks will become 160 MSP (aka $1.99).
Tracks will be out on Tuesday on Xbox Marketplace and Thursday on the Playstation Store.
TRACKS:
Airbourne – Runnin’ Wild - 80 MSP - $0.99
DevilDriver – Clouds Over California - 80 MSP - $0.99
Dream Theater – Constant Motion - 80 MSP - $0.99
Killswitch Engage – My Curse - 80 MSP - $0.99
Machine Head – Aesthetics Of Hate - 80 MSP - $0.99
Megadeth – Sleepwalker - 80 MSP - $0.99
All tracks are masters.
I could have done without Airbourne, and much rather get something from the new Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, or something from their vast back catalog, but beggars can't be choosers. There is enough killer metal in this pack to make up for it. With the past Earache thrash pack and bands like System Of A Down, Metallica, and others getting more play time, we can only hope for Rock Band: Extreme Metal edition in the future.

Forget about Obama and fuck John McCain… finally, a candidate who is a straight shooter, Vinne Apice (also of AGNOSTIC FRONT fame). If this promotional video doesn't convince you, maybe these deep thoughts will. This video made my day…

Above, you can watch/hear a stream of the new TRIVIUM single, Kirisute Gomen (which is titled after a Japanese samurai expression that’s the equivalent of “I’m gonna kick your f—ing ass” and translates to “I’m sorry but I’m going to have to take your head.”) This is just one of the morsels discovered in a brand new audio interview with vocalist/lead guitarist Matt Heafy. Matt also discusses his Japanese ancestry, the growth the band have undergone since their previous record, The Crusade, the creation of the new songs, recording in Nashville with producer Nick Raskulinecz and other topics. Head over to Headbangers Blog to hear the interview.

Three bands have been in the news lately in regards to their forthcoming records:
> SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY have been keeping fans updated on their MySpace blog on the record process for their upcoming release Intervals. The band has announced that the release will see the light of day on October 14th. Guitars, bass and drums have already been completed. Also, Nate Johnson recorded vocals for a guest spot on the record. Unfamiliar with SYNT? Check out a bunch of live videos.
> UNEARTH have completed work on their new album, The March due on October 14 via Metal Blade Records. The March was recorded at both MA’s System Recording Studios and Zing Studios with producer Adam Dutkiewicz of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE. UNEARTH front man Trevor Phipps states, “The March symbolizes both the evil and hopeful sides of humanity." Sounds deep.
> In his weekly MetalSucks column, Dallas Coyle announced that the new GOD FORBID record has been pushed back to a late January/early February release due to mixing issues.
