WITCHDEN Brings Forth The Blackened Death Metal On "Finding Death"

You'll wanna put on some corpse paint and mosh.

If you're looking for some seriously killer blackened death metal, then look no further than Witchden. The band combines mosh-worthy riffs with windmilling blasts on their new song "Finding Death," which vocalist Blake Reed said is easily one of Witchden's most aggressive tracks.

"'Finding Death' is easily one of the most aggressive tracks on our new album, so it seemed like the perfect track to turn into a video with footage from our album release show. It carries a little extra weight for me (Blake), as I actually wrote the lyrics to this track about my father's passing, at his bedside in the hospital while the rest of the band was recording without me. Ironically, I'm the one who booked all the studio time, and then missed almost the entire process because I stayed at the hospital with my dad for two weeks. Once the lyrics were written, I told Kory he needed to write a 'powerful and emotional solo' to go at the end of the song. I didn't get to hear the solo until we played the song live only a couple weeks later- on my dad's birthday, no less. Needless to say, it was perfect; I was crying and puking from nerves while performing, and I actually retreated to the backstage area while our set was closing with said solo. There are a few tracks on the album that are favorites of mine for one reason or another- but for me, 'Finding Death' is really something special."

Witchden's new album Deus Nihil is out now.
